Edo Ichi Japanese Cuisine

Honestly, I'm not one of those people who go bonkers over Japanese food. I know Penang already has plenty of choices, what with the uncountable number of Japanese joints. There are probably more than 10 in the Pulau Tikus area! Definitely won't be easy to choose.

So when Edo Ichi finally opened in Island Plaza, we were skeptical about going there at first. What if it was just another measly effort to join in on the Jap food craze? Hmm. But then came the dreaded CNY weekend. Where to eat? Most places were fully booked or closed, so we eventually decided on this place. How lucky we were to even get a table!

The service was impeccable, and so was the food. Seriously, I think I may have underestimated the allure of Japanese cuisine. As shown above, we had two salads, the unagi one as well as the salmon skin. Both were satisfying till the last piece of lettuce. Then we had the volcano roll. Which literally looked like one. A volcano, I mean. Salmon and cheese, a match made in heaven. Yum.

Plus, there's always the real fish to look at when you've had enough sashimi.
