S'mores @ Home

Taken off Wikipedia: A s'more (sometimes spelled smore) is a traditional nighttime campfire treat popular in the United States and Canada consisting of a roastedmarshmallow and a layer of chocolate sandwiched between two pieces of graham cracker.

Made smores everyday for almost a week! Made mine with Jacobs crackers, chocolate pastilles, marshmallows and a whole lotta whipped cream.

YUMMY OMG.

JUST LOOK AT THAT.

Brownies at home.

My very own brownie stack!
Made by Mom, she's simply amazing.
Especially when it comes to pleasing my sweet tooth!

Why does everything always taste better with vanilla ice cream?

Mom's Chicken Sandwich

Cheese, grilled capsicums, avocado, cucumber, and of course, Lingham's chilli sauce.
Mom's chicken sandwich just got a whole lot better. Take that, Coffee Bean!

1/2 each of red and green bell peppers cut into a bite size
3 leaves spring onions sliced
8 button mushrooms sliced
1/2 cup chicken stock

Red Wine Mee Sua @ Home

My uncle started making his own red wine (hokkien : ang zhiu/ang jiu), being the budding chef he is.
So guess who gets to try out the first few bottles?

My mom makes one very slurpy bowl of red wine mee sua.
Recipe passed down from generation to generation.
Mom learnt it from my grandmother, who I remember used to make one giant pot every chinese new year.
The soup's definitely the highlight.  Dad never fails to finish even the last drop of soup.

Wanna know where to get the best mee sua? Or rice vermicelli, as known by the Westeners.
My hometown! -The small, quiet town of Sitiawan.
(fun fact - notice it's featured quite frequently in the foodie section of The Star)

Chicken pie

009

Sister came back for the holidays, so mom decided to make some good ol’ chicken pies for dinner. Look good, don’t they? We all prefer the thick pie crust to the puff pastry so mom makes the crust from scratch. The smell of the pies baking in the oven is simply wonderful. Makes the eating part even more enjoyable. One of my all time favourite meals. :)
